INOLOPE EXPO will be held for the first time in Dortmund between 12 and 14 February 2025. The new show will focus comprehensively on the latest developments in 'smart shell' building envelopes which have a key role to play in architecture and facility management. Energy efficiency, sustainability, durability, cost awareness, value enhancement, comfort and aesthetics are key factors that have become even more important in the age of climate change, increasing urban density and a heightened awareness of comfort. Efficient use of resources and forward-looking, sustainable building solutions are now more important than ever.
Dortmund, 10 January 2023 – At the very first INOLOPE EXPO – the buyer-meets-seller forum for innovative building envelopes between 12 and 14 February 2025, exhibitors will be showcasing their extensive expertise in optimising building performance and resource-saving construction methods. The focus will be on modules such as windows, doors and exterior walling plus all the latest trends in technology, systems, and information and communication technology.
Innovative building envelopes contribute to improved energy efficiency, greater living comfort, lower operating costs and an overall more sustainable lifestyle. This helps minimise energy consumption through lower heat loss and smart use of the building envelope. Smart building shells also help regulate indoor temperatures and light. Ventilation and window operation can be controlled automatically, optimising the use of daylight and automatically providing the shading required. Advanced materials also ensure increased sound insulation and fire safety.
“In times of climate change and in view of rapidly rising energy costs in many areas, climate-optimised construction methods and communication between the trades have become increasingly important. Intelligent, resource-saving and energy-efficient outer shells and roofs offer truly ground-breaking ways of approaching the future. The new INOLOPE EXPO show will see Messe Dortmund presenting pioneering technical options, innovative structural components and the latest software and accompanying services for innovative building envelopes,” explained Sabine Loos, chief show organiser and Managing Director of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe, adding: “Offering concentrated expertise, a 360-degree view of the market and high information-density, the new industry forum is dedicated to a topic that is – and will continue to be – of immense importance for new-build premises and for energy-efficient refurbishment of existing buildings.”
With its range of products and services, the show is aimed in particular at planners, architects, project developers, construction companies, component manufacturers, real estate businesses, municipal and local authorities as well as research and development organisations. The new INOLOPE EXPO will give all players in the industry an ideal platform for gathering comprehensive information, making business contacts and working together to promote topics of importance within the industry. At the same time, visitors will have the opportunity to visit elektrotechnik 2025 in Dortmund and discover interesting facts about the latest technologies in the fields of building, energy and industrial equipment as well as smart living and building, innovative energy concepts and process automation.
Commenting on the new show, Frank Lange, Executive Director of the German Window & Walling Association 'VFF' and the German Quality Consortium for Windows, Walling & External Doors, added: “As a trade organisation comprising leading manufacturers of windows, doors and external walling, and system and trading partners, we welcome the new INOLOPE EXPO show as another venue promoting the exchange of information within the industry. We need this exchange as a way of finding new solutions in the construction and walling industry in order to drive competitiveness, cost-effectiveness and sustainability in a leading-edge way. At the German Window & Walling Association, we represent the window, walling and external door industry in Germany, giving our members and the entire industry in-depth market information and comprehensive expertise in the areas of technology, standardisation, law and statistics. We are also particularly concerned about ecology and the use of environmentally friendly, durable materials – as an important foundation and common denominator for future construction projects and for sustainable growth in the industry.”
INOLOPE EXPO partner the German Energy Consultants' Association will also be represented at the new information platform and buyer-meets-seller forum: “The construction industry is in a continuous process of innovation and is becoming increasingly complex – from high-tech materials and innovative heating systems and external control options. It is also important to know the exact requirements of building laws and funding programmes. The German Energy Consultants' Association represents the interests of around 3,500 qualified energy consultants in Germany who will be obtaining expert information at the new INOLOPE EXPO in the field of innovative building envelopes on topics such as sustainability, technological integration, value enhancement, and aesthetics and adaptivity. After all, energy-efficient construction and sensible use of natural resources are going to be tomorrow's gold standard as climate change progresses,” said GIH Executive Director Benjamin Weismann.
The importance of the new INOLOPE EXPO is also emphasised by Dr Gunter Mann, President and Executive Director of the German Green Buildings Association (BuGG): “Climate change and its consequences are a global problem of our time and are already making themselves felt clearly in Germany. The greening of buildings makes a valuable contribution to climate change adaptation, especially in urban areas. At the new INOLOPE EXPO, the German Green Buildings Association will be providing information on the necessity and positive impact of green roofs, exterior walls and interiors as a highly effective way of improving the climate in urban spaces and within buildings. The new show in Dortmund will offer all players in the construction industry a comprehensive platform complete with a wide range of ideas and innovative solutions that combine building electronics with resource-saving concepts for exterior walls and roofs.”
