From 12 to 14 February 2025, the new Inolope Expo show at Messe Dortmund will be presenting innovative technologies and sustainable concepts for building envelopes – ranging from smart exterior wall elements to resource-saving, energy-efficient solutions. The show will also feature a host of market leaders, hidden champions and promising newcomers.
Dortmund, 8 January 2025 – Messe Dortmund will be launching its new trade show Inolope Expo in February 2025. Aimed at trade visitors interested in the building envelope as a key item of construction technology in the push for net zero, and in particular aimed at planners, architects, project developers, building and trade contractors, real estate companies, representatives of urban and district municipalities and organisations engaged in research and development. Inolope Expo will be flanked by a comprehensive supporting programme. Trade visitor tickets can be obtained from the online ticket shop.
Focus topic: helping the construction industry achieve net zero
Among others, representatives from the German Green Buildings Association (BuGG) will talk about the potential and funding opportunities for green roofing. Their combination of ecological and economic benefits has a key role to play in sustainable urban development. The specific benefits of solar roofing and green retention roofing, rainwater management and green exterior walling over green biodiversity roofing will be discussed.
The Ventilated Wall Cladding Materials & Components Association (FVHF) will present exterior wall cladding as a key future technology in an era of climate change and scarcity of resources. By creating a climate-regulating air gap between the wall and the outer façade, they offer benefits such as improved thermal insulation, weather protection, moisture control, sound insulation and a longer service life for the building. The FVHF's appearance at the show is being supported by the German Building Culture Foundation.
At the stand of the In-Building Solar Technology Advice Centre (BAIP) of Helmholtz Centre Berlin (HZB), experts in architecture and solar power generation will provide architects, planners and building owners with specific advice on all topics related to in-building integrated solar power systems. “Building solar power generation technology into the building envelope taps into the huge potential of the built environment for generating solar power,” says Björn Rau, initiator and head of the Advice Centre. “As well as the roof, walling in particular has a lot going for it in terms of solar power without any additional space requirement.”
Visitors to the Bavarian Solar Power Promotion Society (SeV) will be able to see how well good planning can make it easy to fit solar power systems built into buildings. Its travelling architecture and solar power exhibition showcases outstanding entries to the In-Building Integrated Solar Technology Architecture Awards. The competition, endowed with EUR 27,000, was awarded for the tenth time in 2024 and highlights exemplary solutions with the aim of achieving net zero in the construction sector.
Market leaders, hidden champions and promising newcomers
These and many other well-known exhibitors will be in attendance at Inolope Expo, including Stuttgart-based start-up HydroSKIN which has developed a revolutionary concept for the climate adaptation of buildings to reduce urban flood and heat risks and was one of the winners of the 2024 German Design Awards. The company will also be involved in the supporting programme. DEUTSCHE ROCKWOOL GmbH & Co KG and Kingsspan GmbH, one of the leading providers of advanced insulation and building envelope solutions, will also be in attendance – as will Gefässerie, winner of the 2024 BuGG Award, whose lively, fully greened company premises in Fuchsstadt, southern Germany, are based on the principles of biophilic design and are one-of-a-kind in Germany.
